Tempted?

The history of every temptation, and of every sin, is the same; the outward object of attraction, the inward commotion of mind, the increase and triumph of passionate desire; ending in the degradation, slavery, and ruin of the soul.”

(Jamieson, Fausset, Brown Commentary on the Bible)

We all deal with temptation.

Read that quote again.

We are attracted by something, there is an inward commotion that we experience, our passion and desire increases, if we give in it results in the degradation, slavery, and ruin of the soul. Temptation will always be a part of our lives – until we are in Glory.

Our assurance of victory is found in  1 Corinthians 10:13:

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

Temptation entices. Sin kills. Flee now!
